iTivity remote access and administration software uses reverse or outbound connections to provide always-on access to Linux systems. The iTivity iAgent connects outbound from behind the firewall or NAT device to the iServer. No pinhole is needed. No VPN is needed. The iTivity iServer listens for connections from all available Linux iAgents.

When configured for always-on access, the iTivity iAgent maintains a constant connection to the iServer. If the connection is lost for any reason, the iAgent will attempt to reconnect until successful. With the Linux iAgent installed, you will always have secure remote access via the iServer.

The iTivity iAgent can be configured to connect to the iServer on any port. Often, the iAgent is configured to connect on port 443, which provides the highest general firewall compatibility. For highly secure environments, the iAgent also supports connections via SOCKS V4 and V5 proxy servers.

iTivity supports many Linux distributions, including RedHat Enterprise 3.0-4.0-5.0, Fedora, CentOS, Ubuntu, Suse and more.
